Lumpini Park cats to be put up for adoption

Lumpini Park cats to be put up for adoption

Bangkok’s Lumpini Park is banishing its stray cats. Department of Livestock Development officials launched a project on Saturday to capture and sterilize the cats before moving them to its Animal Quarantine Centre in Don Muang.

According to the Facebook fan page “Photographer Love Cat”, the officials said they would allow the sterilized cats some time to recover at the centre before making them available for adoption as pets.
The removal of cats was in accordance with the park’s policy not to allow animals within its boundaries, the page said.

Many social media users expressed concerns over the cats’ wellbeing and said they wanted them to be returned to the park.
Anybody interested in adopting the Lumpini Park cats can contact the Department of Livestock Development’s Don Muang branch at 02- 9299021 extension 104.
