Fire destroys house of former mayor in Yasothon

The blaze spread and also damaged the kitchen of the neighbouring house, police said.
The fire broke out at 8.30pm at the house of Pornchai Naowaroj, the former mayor of Muang Yasothon municipality, in Tambon Nai Muang.
Fire-fighters took about an hour to control the blaze after it engulfed the two-storey wooden house.
No one was in the house at the time of fire. A neighbour, Wasin Lekhawijit, told police that Pornchai and his wife had moved to Mahasarakham province but they occasionally visited their house.
Wasin said he heard a loud explosion at 8.30pm and saw the fire spread quickly from the second floor.
