Elderly man drowns in pond behind house in Suphan Buri
An elderly man drowned in a lotus pound behind his house in Suphan Buri’s Muang district on Thursday morning.
The body of Sawai Khongsiri, 87, was found in the pond in Tambon Don Kamyan at 8am.
His grandson Pairoj Boonchuay said Sawai liked to walk in the morning to exercise but he had not returned to the house on Thursday morning so he went out to look for him. He checked with neighbours but none had seen Sawai so Pairoj returned to check the pond and found the body.
Police said they suspected the man might have fallen unconscious because of ill health and fell into the pond.
