Whirlpool drowns Cambodian pig-farm worker

A Cambodian worker drowned after a whirlpool caused him to get stuck in a large water pipe connecting ponds of a pig farm in Prachin Buri’s Mueang district on Friday evening.
Police said the accident happened at 8.30pm at a farm in Pak Klong Prachantakham village in Tambon Bang Boribun.
Tiang Yin, 27, from Kampong Thom in Cambodia, was sucked into the water pipe by a whirlpool after he opened a gate to transfer water between ponds. He became stuck in the pipe.
Rescuers had to use a bulldozer to dig up the pipe and remove the body.
The worker left behind a wife, sister and four-year-old son.
