Akha hill-tribe women in traditional costumes perform a dance during the Swing Festival, which opened on Monday at the Ban Saen Suk Community Cultural Plaza in Chiang Rai's Mae Chan district.
The festival is meant to conserve tribal culture, promote tourism and strengthen the community's sense of unity. Chiang Rai Governor Narongsak Osotthanakorn took part in the opening ceremony.
