Nationwide warning for flash floods

The Meteorological Department has warned people in many parts of the North, Northeast, East and South regions to brace for possible flash floods due to intense rainfall from 6am on Sunday until 6am on Monday.

The widespread heavy rainfall was attributed to Doksuri, a typhoon that has already weakened into a tropical depression and low-pressure area as it moves across the northern and western parts of Thailand into Myanmar.
Widespread rain with heavy and very heavy rainfall in some areas are forecast until Monday morning in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phayao, Nan, Phrae, Lamphun, Lampang, Uttradit, Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet, Tak and Phetchabun.
Eighty per cent of the Northeastern and Central regions and 70 per cent of the East region, covering Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaew, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat, are facing rainstorms with heavy rains in some areas.
