Two Loei villages hit by mountain runoff

Mountain runoff triggered by overnight rains hit two villages in Loei’s Phu Kradueng district on Wednesday morning.

Runoff water from nearby mountains inundated a canal that burst its banks to flood Ban Nam Pong and Ban Huay Dua villages in Tambon Srithan at about 6am.
The water level was bout 50 centimres to one metre deep.
Rescuers from a foundation in the district went to the villages to help villagers move their belongings to higher ground.
