The ceremony will run from today until Sunday.
Army commander-in-chief General Chalermchai Sittisart separately said that in response to the King’s concern, coverings were being prepared to spread over hot cement footpaths to provide relief to people who have camped out to attend the ceremony in the prime zones allotted for members of the public.
Government Spokesman Lt-General Sansern Kaewkamnerd said the King had instructed officials to take care of people.
Especially in the provinces affected by flooding, officials should facilitate the travel of people wishing to visit replicas of the Royal Crematorium by providing free bus services, he added. The government was following the instructions and Prayut had said officials should try to be as flexible as possible when dealing with people attending the Royal Cremation, he said.
