Tak residents pay respects with marigolds

The area in front of Wat Ratcharoentham in Tak's Phob Phra district, which is designated as a place for members of the public to place funeral flowers for HM the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej on Thursday, was decorated with 30,000 marigold flowers on Thursday.

The decorations were placed by 300 Phob Phra residents as a tribute to the monarch.
The government has encouraged people to cultivate and display marigolds and other yellow flowers in a show of devotion to the late monarch, who was born on a Monday, with which the colour yellow is traditionally associated.
King Bhumibol’s funeral is taking place from Wednesday to Sunday.
