Temperature slides to 5 degrees on Chiang Mai peak
The temperature atop Doi Inthanon, Thailand’s highest mountain, plunged further on Wednesday morning to a chilly 5 degrees Celsius.
That was down from 6 degrees on Tuesday morning.
Wednesday morning’s temperature at the popular Kiew Mae Pan outlook high on the mountain’s slope was 6 degrees.
“If the weather continues like this, we’ll see frozen dew in the mornings soon,” said Doi Inthanon National Park director Rung Hiranwong.
Wednesday was also opening day for the scenic nature trails leading to Kiew Mae Pan. Visitors were waiting since 5am to start trekking.
