Loei appeals for blankets, jackets for 134,000 underprivileged people

The chief disaster prevention and mitigation officer of Loei on Friday put out a public call for assistance. His office urgently needs blankets, jackets and other winter clothing for some 134,000 poor people to survive the coming winter, said Pramual Lapjit.

Pramual said his office discovered through a survey that 134,572 low-income people in Loei’s 14 districts need winter clothing.
Thai Beverage Plc became the first private firm to step in and help the poor this year by handing out 7,000 blankets via local administrations.
Friday morning, the lowest temperature in Loei was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius at the Phurua mountaintop while the Phu Kradueng National Park saw the mercury drop to 12 C.
