Patong underground cabling works start next April

Phuket Governor Norapat Plodthong received an update on Patong underground cabling work during a morning meeting on Wednesday, as a scheduled start date for the project was set for April.

Representatives from the Phuket Electrical Authority reported on progress Taweewong Road, also known as Beach Road. A budget of Bt224 million has been allocated.
The budget will be divided between the authority, which is responsible for the Bt160-million cost of the electric system, and Patong Municipality, which is responsible for the Bt64-million cost of public works and underground cable pipelines.
The project will focus on a three-kilometre stretch of Taweewong Road. 

Patong underground cabling works start next April
The e-bidding process is currently in progress to nominate for a contractor, who is expected to start construction in April next year. The construction is supposed to take a year and a half to complete.
The underground cable network will be designed to have a greater carrying capacity as the Phuket Electrical Authority seeks to boost the efficiency of its power generation system.
