A total of 5,000 methamphetamine pills were found discarded just shortly before a police road checkpoint in Phayao’s Mueang district on Friday.
A worker cutting roadside grass alerted police after spotting five bags of the drug left near the sign for the Mae Tam checkpoint in Tambon Mae Ka.
Police will check security camera footage to try to locate those who dropped the bags.
