A local resident found the bike alongside an irrigation canal about 500 metres from a mosque in Ban Ton Makham, Yarang district.
He moved it to the front of the mosque while the village head looked for the owner, but then noticed that the water bottle was unusually large and alerted police.
Police used a water cannon to disable the fuse and determined that the bottle was a homemade bomb packed with about a kilogram of explosives.
Police said the bike was one of five seen on security recordings being ridden at different places in the province, where several blasts occurred on Sunday.
