Reprints of the first Thai textbook “Jindamanee” continued to sell like hotcakes, thanks to the popularity of TV soap “Buppesannivas” (“Love Destiny”) which features the textbook in its programme because the author had lived in that period of King Narai’s (1656 to 1688) reign.
Organised by the Publishers and Booksellers Association of Thailand (PUBAT), the fair – aiming to encourage Thais to read more – will run through April 8. It features 945 book-selling booths by over 400 publishing houses from 16 countries. Fair highlights include a multitude of book launches, hi-tech multimedia e-book presentations and graphic design exhibitions.
