Fire burns down plastic pellet warehouse in Chon Buri
A fire burned down a warehouse in Chon Buri's Phan Thong district early on Monday.
Phan Thong police were alerted to the fire at the Khumphet Inter Plast factory on the Phan Thong-Hua Phai road in Tambon Khok Khi Non at 2.30am.
It took 11 fire engines more than an hour to control the blaze. The fire engulfed the entire warehouse, which stored plastic pellets and equipment used to make the pellets.
Two pickup trucks, a car and three motorcycles were also damaged.
The factory owner, Wilailak Khumphet, 30, said the fire might have been caused by a short circuit. She estimated the damage at Bt5 million.
Boonthong Oboon 50, the manager of a nearby building, said he heard a loud explosion before seeing the warehouse engulfed in flames.
