Insurgents fired at two road checkpoints and a marine post in Narathiwat’s Bacho district late Sunday night, police said.

No one was injured in the three attacks.
Bacho police station chief Pol Colonel Patama Madawa led police and a unit of marines to inspect the attack scenes on Monday morning for safety reasons.

Patama said insurgents fired at the road checkpoint in Ban Batu village in tambon Palukasamao, another road checkpoint in Ban Iyoh in tambon Bareh Nua and a marine post in Ban Satae village in tambon Bacho.
At Ban Batu, insurgents fired at the checkpoint from a rubber plantation but in the two other attacks, a team of insurgents drove by in a pickup truck as they fired at the authorities.
Patama said Marines at the post could not fire back at the insurgents for fear of hitting several vehicles that were passing by.
