Man, 74, arrested for allegedly stealing camera

A Samut Prakan man, 74, was arrested at his house on Tuesday night for allegedly taking away a camera belonging to its owner who had lost the equipment in Suvarnabhumi Airport, police said.

Prakarn Preechanon was arrested in the Watcharapol area at 9pm under an arrest warrant issued by the Samut Prakarn Court. The camera was recovered from his house.
He was accused of stealing a shoulder bag containing a camera at the airport on April 2.
The camera owner, a pharmacist, had filed a complaint at Suvarnabhumi Police Station at 11pm on April 2 that she had lost her camera bag and camera at the airport.
Police checked footage from security cameras at the airport and saw Prakarn walking to sit at the passengers’ waiting area. A foreigner showed him a bag and apparently asked if he was the owner. The old man nodded and placed the bag beside him and waited for a while. He later got up and walked away with the bag.
