Military reshuffle sent for royal approval: PM

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Friday that he has submitted the annual military reshuffle list for royal approval.

The reshuffle, which will take effect on October 1, is seen as crucial as all the top military posts of Army, Air Force and Navy chiefs, supreme commander and permanent secretary for defence will be changed due to mandatory retirements.
According to sources, Armed Forces Chief-of-Staff Gen Pornpipat Benyasri will become the supreme commander while Admiral Luechai Ruddit is being promoted from the deputy Navy chief to Navy commander-in-chief.
The sources said assistant Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal Chaipreuk Disyasarin would become the Air Force commander-in-chief while assistant Army chief Gen Apirat Kongsompong would become the Army commander-in-chief.
