Worker drowns in Samut Prakan wastewater pond

A worker's body was found floating in a wastewater treatment pond of a cloth dying factory in Samut Prakan's Phra Pradaeng district, a forest sometimes known as Bangkok’s “lung”, on Wednesday morning.

Pithak Tilbal, 47, from Surin worked in the delivery department of the Kitcharoen Textile Co Ltd on Soi Suksawat 78 in Tambon Bang Chak.
A doctor determined that he died about six hours before the body was found. He had no sign of injuries so police said he might have been drunk and fallen into the pond.
The body was sent for an autopsy at the Police Hospital in Bangkok.
