The drug was spotted by farmers who were fertilising their rice fields at 7.30am, about 15 metres away from the Asia Highway.
The drug was inside several small plastic bags, wrapped in a large packs. Police estimated there were almost one million pills.
Anyaporn Chanthorn, 31, told police that she and her parents came to put fertiliser on their land and spotted several abandoned longan crates. When she checked she found what she believed were drugs and called police.
Police believe drug mules used longan crates to disguise their drug shipment but the pack might have been accidentally dropped because the spot was dark at night.
