Four poachers arrested in two cases the same day in Ubon park

Park officials arrested four villagers for allegedly poaching in a national park in Ubon Ratchathani’s Na Chaluay district on Monday.

Jinna Samsri, chief of the Phu Jong Na Yoi National Park, said the four villagers were arrested in two separate cases on Monday afternoon.
In the first case, two villagers were arrested with four squirrel carcasses and 105 crabs at 2.46pm inside the park.
Less than an hour later, another two villagers were arrested inside the park. Park officials seized four squirrel carcasses, 55 crabs and a turtle from them, as well as a homemade rifle.
The four men were handed over to the district police station for legal action. The crabs and the turtle were sent to the Chulabhorn wildlife nursery station for rehabilitation.
