Hot conditions with thundershowers forecast for upper Thailand

The Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Thursday (April 30) that a thermal low cell covers the lower North and the upper Central, creating hot weather conditions in upper Thailand.

A high pressure covers Laos, Vietnam and the South China Sea causing the southerly and southeasterly winds to blow over upper Thailand. Isolated thundershowers are likely in with gusty winds in the North. People should stay safe from the severe weather, the department said while warning farmers to beware of damage to crops.
The department also forecast that the strong easterly winds prevailing over the Gulf and the South would bring more rain with isolated heavy rain and gusty winds to the areas. During May 1-5, the active low pressure over Sumatra will intensify and bring thundershowers with isolated heavy rain over the South.
