Hot to very hot conditions with thundershowers and gusty winds are forecast for the Northeast, the East, Central and the lower North. People should beware of the severe conditions.
In the South, the southeasterly winds across the Gulf bring continuous rainfall.
The department also said that the tropical storm “Vongfong” over Philippines is moving northwest with no effect on Thailand.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Hot to very hot, with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas, and gusty winds in some areas; temperature lows of 23-28 degrees Celsius and highs of 37-41 degrees.
Northeastern region: Hot to very hot with thundershowers in 30 per cent of the areas, and gusty winds in some areas, temperature lows of 25-28 degrees Celsius and highs of 37-40 degrees.
Central region: Hot to very hot, with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas, gusty winds in some areas; temperature lows of 26-28 degrees Celsius, highs of 38-41 degrees.
Eastern region: Hot, with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas and gusty winds in some areas; temperature lows of 25-28 degrees Celsius, highs of 34-38 degrees; waves less than a metre high and one metre high during thundershowers.
Southern region (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees Celsius, highs of 34-37 degrees; waves less than a metre high and one metre during thundershowers.
Southern region (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-26 degrees Celsius, highs of 33-36 degrees; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Hot with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 27-29 degrees, highs of 36-40 degrees Celsius.
