BMA orders close scrutiny of malls and 200 locations in Bangkok

BMA orders close scrutiny of malls and 200 locations in Bangkok

The Bangkok administration has assigned officers in 50 districts to closely monitor the virus situation in the capital and enforce the ban on drinking outside.

Bangkok Governor Asawin Khwanmuang also asked officials to check the readiness and action plan of CentralWorld Supermarket and shops within CentralWorld Plaza in Pathumwan district, due to the large size of the mall and the number of people who visit it.
The governer assigned Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) executives, both political and regular officers, including 50 district offices to inspect preventive measures in shopping malls, shopping centres and communities covering almost 200 locations in Bangkok.
“If any restaurant allows customers to sit and drink alcohol in the shop, they will be ordered to close the shop immediately. There will be no warnings or suggestions for correction. Moreover, stores are also prohibited from organising promotions or activities that may cause close contact or congestion, which would raise the risk of spreading the virus,” the governor said.
