He said that according to counsellor Wittawat Khuprasert, the interpreter, who works at Thailand’s Office of Labour Affairs, had tested negative for Covid-19 and declared to have been recovered since last Tuesday. The interpreter had been hospitalised on July 26 with Covid-19 symptoms.
“Hence, we have instructed the minister counsellor to issue a ‘fit to fly’ certificate in cooperation with related authorities so the patient can be brought back to Thailand,” he said.
“We have also instructed Wittawat to take care of the patient and ensure a safe return.”
He added that the interpreter’s two sons will return to Thailand in early September.
“As the labour minister, it is my job to take care of all labourers as if they were part of my own family,” Suchart said.
