Xinhua news agency said trade between China and Vietnam alone has expanded 18.1 per cent in the first half of this year, making it the strongest bilateral trading partnership in Asean.
Agricultural products and electronic devices are behind the growth in trade between China and the Asean, which has ousted European Union from its role as China’s largest trading partner.
Analysts say the pandemic reduced demands in the European Union, though consumption continued to expand in Asean due to free-trade agreements and improved collaboration of the supply chain.
