Watchakorn Manoping’s family realised he was missing at 4am on Tuesday, and after finding his shoes on the bridge they assumed he may have jumped.
They then called the police to say Watchakorn had sent a phone message saying he could no longer tolerate his health condition and did not want to be a burden on his family.
The local disaster prevention and mitigation officials along with volunteers began hunting for the man at 6am, and though they came up with nothing 12 hours later, they decided to continue hunting for the missing man on Wednesday.
