Bangkok tightens anti-Covid security as 21 new cases found in quarantine

Bangkok governor Aswin Kwanmuang ordered authorities to tighten enforcement of Covid-19 prevention rules in the capital, after 21 new cases were reported in quarantine on Monday. Boxing rings, entertainment venues and other crowded places will be checked, along with schools.

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration reported 21 new cases in state quarantine facilities over a 24-hour period on Monday.

The cases include nine Thais aged between 21 and 44 who returned from Tachilek city in Myanmar on December 4 and tested positive for Covid-19 on the same day. They were immediately sent to Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital for isolation and treatment.
