Thailand records 23,557 Covid-19 cases and 38 deaths on Thursday

Ministry of Public Health reported on Thursday (February 24) morning that in the past 24 hours there are 23,557 new patients who tested positive for Covid-19, 228 of whom have arrived in Thailand from abroad.

Death toll increased by 38, while 16,131 patients were cured and allowed to leave hospitals.

Cumulative cases in the country since January 1, 2022 are at 570,915.
 

The country’s total caseload from Covid-19 stands at 2,794,350 – 2,590,589 of whom have recovered, 180,993 are still in hospitals and 22,768 have died.

Separately, another 61,074 people were given their first Covid-19 shot in the last 24 hours, 43,136 their second shot and 183,689 a booster, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered nationwide to 122,473,371.

According to Worldometer, confirmed cases globally had risen to 430.21 million on Thursday, 358.61 million of whom have recovered, 65.66 million are active cases (79,480 in severe condition) and 5.94 million have died (up by 10,559).

Thailand ranks 32nd in the global list of most cases, which is topped by the US with 80.37 million, followed by India with 42.88 million, Brazil with 28.49 million, France with 22.47 million and the UK with 18.73 million.
