“Apparently the incident affected some of the students,” agency head Taufik Yudi Mulyanto said at City Hall on Friday.
The parents of the girl featured in the video have filed a report of sexual harassment with the police, saying their daughter was forced to be in the video.
The four-minute clip shows a male student kissing and groping the girl in a classroom while she chats with her friend who recorded the incident.
The male student was expelled, but the girl had not yet responded to the school’s summons, Taufik said.
“We understand she must be depressed. Please respect, help and support her. We will punish her. Don’t give [her] social and moral punishment anymore because she still has a long way to go,” Taufik said.
Police questioned the girl on Friday but have not yet released any information.
Over 17 people, including 10 students, have also been interviewed by the police.
Based on students’ testimonies and the video itself, police said the participants were not coerced into being involved.
The investigation also revealed that the students had been filmed in compromising positions a few times before.
