The thrilling match at Thuwunna Youth Training Centre Stadium ended with a 2-2 draw and went into extra-time. In the first minute of the additional 30 minutes, defender Serigne Abdou restored Qatar’s lead.
Qatar will face North Korea in Thursday’s final after the three-time winners earlier recorded a 5-0 win over Uzbekistan.
Meanwhile, the AFC Disciplinary Committee has fined the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) a total of US$24,000 as a result of a pitch invasion by spectators after the October 17 quarter-final match between Myanmar and the United Arab Emirates at the Youth Training Centre in Yangon.
The committee found MFF accountable for several violations of the AFC Disciplinary Code and the AFC U-19 Championship 2014 Regulations, including failure to guarantee law and order as well as safety at the venue, improper conduct by spectators and repeated infringements of the Code.
Myanmar will play their next match without spectators. The order comes with a probationary period of two years.
The committee also strongly advised MFF to take all necessary actions to control spectators in future matches.
