Why gays won't leave the closet

We always wanted to peek inside the closets of Wongchanok "Mungkut" Cheevasiri, Napaporn "Lek" Pohtirattanakul and Supornthip "Tippy" Chuangrangsri without getting caught, and now Preaw magazine has aided and abetted us with an "unexpected" scoop in its 3

Let's get nosy!

Mungkut has 70 tiny Judith Leiber handbags in the shape of tigers, housecats, penguins and cupcakes. That's cute, but the gemstones decorating them mean they cost at least Bt200,000 apiece.

"Most people who own these bags are in high society, and they're common accessories for royalty and the US first lady," she says. But we haven't seen Mungkut with one - because they're too small to be useful! "The last one I bought was the black cat and it's so tiny I can't even put my iPhone in it."

Lek - once dubbed Thailand's Paris Hilton because her family owns the Park Nai Lert, which used to be a Hilton hotel - wears her passion on her feet. Her closet is a showroom for high heels - actually her whole house. They're everywhere.

"I keep them outside the boxes so they can breathe," Lek says, while declining to count them in public.

Lek's favourite brand is Christian Louboutin. She believes the heels make her look sexier no matter how dull the rest of her outfit is. Seven extra inches do tend to put you in higher category.

Yes, Lek admits, the shoes cost a lot of money, but they last 10 years or more.

Businesswoman and socialite Tippy is regularly listed among Thailand's best-dressed women - and her closet explains why.

Place of pride still goes to her Lanvin clothing although she's gone off the boil a bit on Lanvin. She used to own 50 items from the label but lately she's been donating pieces to good causes, at least the ones that don't fit anymore.

Fifty dresses all by Lanvin? If Tippy likes something, she gets every available variant. "I liked the coat in the 2003 spring-winter collection, so I bought one in every colour and style!"
