Chewing the Fat

No firm favourites have emerged in the nominations in the eight award categories of the Fat Awards 2010, with Bodyslam, Burin Boonvisut, Singto Numchok and Singular each getting three nods and Arak Amornsupsiri, Phumjit, Slur and the Yers receiving two nominations apiece.

Widely considered as today's hottest rock band, Bodyslam is nominated for Album of the Year, Record of the Year for "Khid Hod" featuring morlam star Siriporn Ampaipong and Duo or Group.

Burin, who left his discooriฌented outfit Groove Riders to make his solo debut with "Gran Tourismo", also gets the nod for Album, Song for "Kueb" and Male Artist, while Singto, who leapt on to the music scene with his ukulele, is nominated for Album of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, and New Artist of the Year.

Singular, a duo of Thotsapon "Sin" Achawananthakul and Chotiwut "Nut" Bunyasit, who shot to success with "Bao Bao" from the album "The White Room", is nomiฌnated for Song of the Year, Duo or Group of the Year and New Artist.

Arak Amornsupsiri, aka Pe Slur, gets a nod for Album of the Year for his solo debut "Auto Erotic" and Male Artist of the Year; Phumjit for Album of the Year with "Bangkok Fever" plus Duo or Group; new band the Yers are nominated for Record of the Year for the song "Karn Susarn" and New Artist. Slur are nominatฌed for Song of the Year ("Serongang") as well as Duo or Group of the Year.

The winners will be announced tonight at 8 at Click Radio on RCA, broadcast live on 104.5 Fat Radio.
