I have to agree with the "Observer". Why indeed watch the BBC, at least as far as its reports on Thailand are concerned. Living in this country, one can easily detect the bias of the reports. However, the BBC World is watched in many countries around the world. People still regard the BBC as an institution of integrity and therefore tend to believe what they are being told by the BBC about Thailand. Unfortunately the majority of the Western media are dishing out the same kind of misinformation. So it is no wonder that the world believes that after the last election "Thailand is experiencing a democratic awakening" (recent BBC documentary "Justice Under Fire"). There will be an awakening, but of a rather different nature.
