The winners' names start with the letter 'S',as in success

Sony Music supporters cheered the longest and the loudest during the announcement of the winners of Fat Awards 2010 at Click radio's RCA offices on Thursday night as the music label's four artists, coincidentally all of them with names that start with the letter "S" swept five of the eight awards in the main categories

Scrubb won two - Duo or Group Artist and Album of the Year. Singular took Popular Song for "Bao Bao". Slot Machine landed Record of the Year for "Chan Chao". And Apiwat "Stamp" Ueathavornsuk brought home Male Artist of the Year.

Scrubb was a surprise winner - the duo has not won any awards since their latest album "Kid" was released.

"I don't know why," replied Mueay, who writes most of Scrubb's songs, when asked why he thought he won. "I think that these awards are wider ranging with the nomination of some big names like Bodyslam."

Solo artist Singto Numchok from Believe Records was nominated for all the awards last year but collected no prizes. That changed this year, with the ukelele-strumming singer winning New Artist of the Year.

"I don't know if Fat focuses more on indie artists. I think that Believe Records gave me the chance to make this album and that's so great. The award is only the byproduct."

GMM Grammy's Paradox won Popular Artist, and Kanyarat "Lula" Tiyapornchai took home Female Artist of the Year.

The other awards were Bedroom Artist of the Year for OPavee, Popular Album for Phumjit's "Bangkok Fever" and Song of the Year for Penguin Villa's "Good Morning".

The ceremony was studded with media, artists and celebrities, among them actress Ramita "Gipso" Mahaprukpong from the  romantic-comedy film "Suk Kate Salade Ped", actress Cris Horwang and actress Ratchawin "Koy" Wongviriya.
