After taking a break to take care of her two children, actress Busakorn "Noi" Wongpuapan has returned to showbiz and has received a promotion.
The actress who once held the lead role on Channel 3's primetime soap opera is now a producer.
"I'm was very surprised when I got the nod by the station phu yai [manageฌment] to start right away," Noi says as she prepares to begin production by the end of the year.
And of course, she needs to look no further than her home for the hero - hubby "Ken" Theeradej, star of Channel 3's hit series "Kon Rak Luang Jai", is more than willing to lend a hand, or more specifically his handsome face.
As for lead actress, Noi says she's still looking for the right woman.
The new show will be original material - it won't be based on a novel - and Noi expects it will be chalฌlenge for her.
"After all, I want to make a show that will be liked by the viewers," she says. "There's no point in making something to satisfy ourฌselves."
Bad directions
Friends know to keep a close eye on actress Chanana "Dee" Nutakom, whose superฌpower seems to always have her turning up in the wrong place.
Dichan magazine details a Buddhist pilgrimage Dee took in India in which she went to the toilet and then boarded the wrong bus. It wasn't until she realised she didn't recognise her fellow passengers that the error of her ways became apparent.
At the movies in Bangkok, she went into the wrong theatre and it took her a while to realise that she wasn't seeing the actors she was supposed to.
Another time, she was posing for photos at a shopฌpingmall event where she was to meet a friend.
"I am here," Dee answered when her conฌcerned pal telephoned.
They had agreed to meet in front of the cosmetics counter.
The friend called again. "Where are you? Siam Paragon or the Emporium?"
Well, Dee was at the Emporium, but the event she was supposed to attend was at Paragon.
So if you see her, it might be helpful to ask if she's really supposed to be there.
