With reference to this editorial, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran would like to draw attention to the following points:
While agreeing with the title of your editorial, for many reasons your analysis is wrong. One of the reasons for the “Islamic Awakening” in the said countries is standing against foreign interference. So, despite your saying that “the international community can help in … monitoring national elections…” the Libyan people are completely aware and have the right to determine the future of their country and decide on their new political system by themselves and without any foreign interference and monitoring.
It’s not necessary to repeat that after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, some certain powers put pressure and made propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The reason for this hostility can be sought in the Islamic Revolution’s slogans such as independence, freedom, self-sufficiency and self-reliance and also the huge advancement of the Iranian youth in various fields and their scientific and technological progress, which has proved the ineffectiveness of the international hegemony and the wrongness of anti-Iranian policy.
