This seems to apply in reverse to the “secret” Cabinet meeting, sans PM, to get a pardon for Thaksin, which is clearly more important than clearing the flood.
Will the government retain its coalition partners who were the authors of the flood? Do they understand the process whereby members with a vested interest in a parliamentary measure must recuse themselves from the process. With a “Thaksin Thinks, Pheu Thai Does” slogan, that should wipe out the party list for a start.
If Thaksin wants a pardon, he should follow due process. He needs to serve a part of his prison sentence, confess his guilt and beg for pardon. He would, however, risk the courts remembering other impending charges.
