A wine dinner next week pairs Austrian wines with finest Thai cuisine

Gourmets should not miss the special Austrian “Noble Esterhazy Wine Dinner” coming up this Thursday at Benjarong, the Thai restaurant of the Dusit Thani Bangkok. The stars of the evening will be Austrian wines from the famous aristocratic Esterhazy family.
The five-course dinner will be created by chefs Erwin Eberharter and Surasak Kongsawat and offers a rare chance to enjoy Thai dishes paired with Austrian wines. The evening starts with fragrant Thai cocktail snacks paired with 2010 Chardonnay Classic. The first course will be Hokkaido Scallop Carpaccio in Lime and Palm sugar partnered with 2010 Estoras Sauvignon Blanc, ideal for freshwater or seawater fish, with its concentrated fruit aromas and notes of black currant and lime flavours.
The second course is Steamed Main Lobster Tail served with khanom jeen, mild yellow curry, fresh black pepper, bean sprouts, matched with 2010 Estoras Gruner Veltliner, Austria’s best known white grape variety, with its fresh and nutty fruit aromas.
