It's never looked this bleak before

I have been through military governments, coups, demonstrations and many floods in that time. I have never felt so fearful about Thailand as I do now, and I am so in sync with the opinions of Thanong Khanthong [in his Overdrive columns], which I look forward to reading.

I saw the press conference with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Prime Minister Yingluck and hated the patronisation evident in Clinton’s remarks. I also hate the implicit threat that the US would support this pathetic government no matter what. I don’t want the Americans coming back, as the cost will be enormously high to our country. Wherever the Americans go in, the country being “helped” goes up in flames.

So please keep telling it like it is, Khun Thanong – there are not many truthful voices around now.
