Coups can protect the rule of law

Re: "Facebook use doesn't equate to democracy", Letters, December 5.

Maybe my English is not colourful and emotional enough to cause Kemadist Chiaracharuwat to comprehend my viewpoint.
If this parliament ever dares to enact a law effectively pardoning any convict on the run from a legal arm in serving his sentence, then borrowing from Charles Dickens, that law is an ass. The collusion of an executive institution (government) and a legislature (parliament) to frustrate the effectiveness of a judicial sentencing justifies a corrective action in having a coup to frustrate that attempt. It should be known that anyone of any strength and wealth, or political affiliation, should never succeed in twisting our country’s rule of law.
Yes, both are evil but the envisaged plan of purifying a convict is more evil and has a longer-lasting ill effect than having a coup.
