After helping the country to their fifth successive overall title, with a medal tally of 123 gold, 96 silver and 73 bronze medals in the biennial tournament in Indonesia last week, Thai athletes and officials savoured success at the party hosted by Singha Corporation.
Chutinant Bhirombhakdi, Paralympic Committee of Thailand president, said the event was a richly deserved celebration for men and women whose efforts had furnished Thai glory once again.
“The achievement of our athletes was a vindication of their strong determination to succeed. I’m very proud to see them bring more fame to our country by clinching the overall title for a fifth time.
“I’m convinced we will be able to reign at the Games for a very long time. I think I echo all Thais in wishing to thank the athletes for bringing such a remarkable victory to the country. They made the whole nation proud with their exploits.
“I believe the success of our disabled athletes will provide the inspiration for our young generation to strive for success no matter how many challenges they have to face to achieve it,” said Chutinant.
