A contradiction in the Cabinet

An article in the opinion portion of the Asian Wall Street Journal by Pavin Chachvalpongpun was very interesting and also confusing.

“Prime Minister Yingluck must foster greater free speech, or risk seeing radicals do it later”. Also, “Pheu Thai supporters suspect that Yingluck may have struck a grand bargain with the traditional elitists”.
The Pheu Thai Cabinet is [already] made up of wealthy elitists, property developers, police with Bentleys, and the prime minister is also the head of a large corporation.
“The government has spent millions of dollars installing spy software to monitor anti-monarchy websites. Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobumrung, even boasted, “My government has closed down more websites than the previous administration.”
So it’s the start of the control of freedom of speech? What is next? Control of the freedom of the press and NGOs?
