The stores offer the brand’s full range of men’s and women’s contemporary bridge sportswear and accessories, including bags, small leather goods, watches, footwear and eyewear.
The interiors follow the new global concept design for ck Calvin Klein stores, featuring an open space accented with state-of-the-art lighting, stainless steel fixtures paired with crisp, white glass, lacquered surfaces, and smooth, cream limestone floors.
Unmistakably LV
Louis Vuitton artistic director Marc Jacobs and photographer Steven Meisel have again teamed up for the new spring/summer 2012 ad.
In an intriguing echo of the previous season, the campaign takes up the narrative of the fashion show, continuing it from the point where the woman steps daintily off the pure white fairground carrousel and into the pastel pink paradise of an ice cream parlour.
Daria Strokous and Kati Nescher are the lucky pair chosen to sample the parlour’s assorted delights while wearing some of the season’s standouts, including romantic broderie anglaise dresses, shifts embellished with studs and 3D flowers, and sorbet-coloured suits with white lace collars.
“The whole ambience is very pretty, very special and very magical,” says Jacobs. “I’m sure it will look just delicious and fresh come the spring.”
The foldable car
A tiny electric fold-up car designed in Spain’s Basque country as the answer to urban stress and pollution is to be unveiled this week before hitting European cities in 2013.
The Hiriko – in Basque it means urban – is a two-seater with motors in the wheels. It folds up like a baby buggy for easy parking.
Dreamt up by Boston’s MIT Media lab, the concept was developed by a consortium of seven small firms under the name Hiriko Driving Mobility.
“European ideas usually are developed in the United States. This time an American idea is being made in Europe,” consortium spokesman Gorka Espiau says.
The makers are in talks with various European cities to assemble the tiny cars that can run 120 kilometres without a recharge and whose speed is electronically set to respect city limits.
They envisage it as a city-owned vehicle, up for hire like the bicycles available in many European cities, or put up for sale at around ¤12,500 (Bt511,000).
