Green entertainment production company TV Thunder celebrates His Majesty the King’s 84th birthday with “Do for Dad”, an orchestral concert that’s set for next month and will feature dozens of artists.
“It’s another opportunity for Thai youngsters and members of the public to express their love and loyalty to our beloved father,” says managing director Patraporn Wannapinyo.
The upcoming mega-orchestra concert aims to mark a new chapter in the Thai concert sector with three musical highlights.
The first is a string of world-famous pieces that are being re-arranged in a variety of genres from rock to jazz. The second is a selection of well-known compositions that will be performed by an orchestra featuring 70 top musicians. The last is a set of beautiful songs that will be crooned by a group of acclaimed Thai artists including Tanachai “Pod Moderndog” Ujjin, Peerapat “Be” Thanewong, Thanaporn “Parn” Waekprayoon, Prathompong “Pong Stone Metal Fire” Sombatpibul, Koh Mr Saxman, Nat Sakdatorn, Rapeeporn “Pearl” Pratum-anon, Nitipong “Dee” Hornak and Phusit Laithong, who’s also acting as the producer.
“All of us – singers and musicians – will be giving the best performances of our careers especially for our Dad – the King,” says Phusit, who has always been impressed by the Monarch’s kindness towards his people. “It will be a phenomenal concert performance.
“Proceeds will go to the chaipattana Foundation in support of Royal projects. We hope this unique concert will inspire Thai people to realise their responsibilities and work for the benefit of the country to help ensure strong growth and prosperity. This will bring happiness to our Dad,” he says.
