You can easily be kicked off a flight even though you have purchased a legitimate ticket and showed up well in advance to check in.
Apparently there is fine print on your e-ticket that says you need to produce the credit card you used to purchase the ticket upon check-in, or you will be bumped and you will need to purchase a new ticket. Can you believe that?
That’s what we were told when checking-in at Bangkok. Other credit cards, a passport and national ID card were not accepted. We were forced to rush back home in Bangkok traffic to get the credit card and were told if we didn’t get back in 45 minutes we would be bumped. When we made it back, they then simply took one quick look at the card and let us through. They didn’t seem to be checking everyone. Not sure if this special treatment is reserved for special people or as a means of managing overbooked flights. Definitely not cool either way.
Beware or maybe just fly with some other airline for peace of mind.
