Paradox, Palmy and Tor Saksit pick up the big prizes at this year's Seeds Awards

 

More than 100 artists from various labels turned out to Bangkok Convention Hall at Central Lat Phrao for the seventh edition of the Seeds Awards, hosted this year by charming emcees Kiertisak “Hoy” Udomnak and Patcharasri “Kalamare” Benjamas.
Young singer Tanasit “Ton” Jaturapuch, winner of Academy Fantasia Season 8, took home the prize for Best New Artist, while the for So Seed award, a new prize aimed at rewarding an indie artist for creative musical work, went to Watcharawalee Band and was presented by Thailand Got Talent’s one-handed guitarist Somsak Hemran.
Mes Tharathorn, director of the movie “ATM” (Er Rak Error), announced the winner of Best Music Video, handing over the statuette to Chainarong Taempong for the song “Rak Rao”. 
Hit maker Boyd Kosiyabong came to give the Best Producer award to Patiwate Uthaichalerm for the song “Ther Yang” while Seed Mcot’s managing director Teerapat “Tui” Sajjakul presented the Hall of Fame honorary award to Chatree “Ohm” Kongsuwan. 
The awards for Best International Artist went to Katy Perry for her album “Teenage Dream” while Best Asian Artist was awarded to Korean girl group Girls’ Generation for “The Boys”.
The Panthamit dubbers announced Paradox as the winner of Best Duo & Group Artist. Assistant Professor Suchana Chavanich, the first Thai female scientist to join Antarctic research team for climate change study, gave Best Female Artist to Palmy, while Dr Singh Intrachooto, who received Thailand’s Emergent Designer of the Year Award in 2007, offered Best Male Artist to Saksit “Tor” Vejsupaporn.
Bodyslam, Thailand’s hottest rock band, picked up Best Performance, but were unable to accept the award in person as they are currently on tour. Thai classical guitarist Ekkachai Jiarakul took the stage to present the prize for Popular Song to Suparuj Techatanon for “Kham Nai”.
Entertainment was provided by Rookie BB, Dome Pakorn Lump, Scrubb, Flure, 10 To Twelve, Love Me Please, Superbaker and Laongfong.
