A total lack of respect for the law

I am not sure who screwed up worse: KPI, for mentioning an option that they belatedly realised, three days later, was flawed, or General Sonthi, for being the wrong man for the job.

He doesn’t know how a committee works. He railroaded the lopsided political option (which enables Thaksin to return), without allowing deliberation among committee members.
He should go back to his barracks with his tail between his legs. He has no business pretending to be a fair-minded person doing bureaucratic things. He’s a shining example of why military brass should keep their hands out of politics.
Message to KPI: Try thinking ahead, next time. Try as you may, you can’t put toothpaste back in the tube.
In essence, KPI, Sonthi and the Pheu Thai Party are thumbing their noses at the Thai judiciary, and essentially saying, ‘Thai law and its legal system aren’t important.’ Welcome back to Thailand, Mr. Thaksin – you can now return and get the wheels turning again for your manic self-enrichment and self-aggrandisement.
