The Atrix 2 features 1 GHz dual core processor and 4.3-inch qHD screen with 960x540 pixel resolution. The screen uses Corning Gorilla Glass to protect against scratches.
The phone is equipped with 1 gigabytes dual channel RAM and 4 GB onboard storage, expandable with a microSD card up to 32 GB.
It runs on Android 2.3.6 operating system and dual core processor with advanced 3D graphics acceleration and supporting dual Channel RAM gave an impressively fast performance during the test.
I tested it out playing Dead Space and Hot Pursuit and was pleased with the performance. The graphics extensive games with a 3D look did not slow down at all during game play.
The web browser also rendered web pages fast and YouTube video clips and other video files played smoothly.
The touch screen responded very well and there was no slowing of the menus.
I was glad to note that Atrix 2 supports True Move H’s 850 MHz 3G network and decided to test it out during a trip to Hua Hin, managing to quickly and smoothly update my Facebook status both on the way and in the seaside town. Checking my Hotmail and Gmail accounts as well as updating my Foursquare location was also accomplished at speed and I had no problems downloading and installing games.
Atrix 2 comes with an 8 megapixel camera that takes good quality snapshots for a mobile phone. I easily uploaded each shot to my Facebook page using the True Move H’s 3G connection.
Its camera is also capable of shooting 1080p video and the phone provides a micro HDMI port so that you can display your snapshots and video clips or a large screen LCD or Plasma TV.
ATRIX 2 can also function as a portable music player with a standard 3.5mm stereo jack. Its Music application is very good and is capable of displaying the lyrics along with the album cover. I tested it with my Sony premium earphones and was impressed by the music quality.
Motorola ATRIX 2 has a recommended retail price of Bt14,500.
